what a fluke this "live" film was
  • Okay you brits, I'm not sure how your experience was for this film, but I'm in salt lake city Utah USA and the film was played in their smallest auditorium at this theater. The only place showing this film in the whole state. I had to get up and tell management that there was no damn sound and their lights kept on in the auditorium. They finally addressed those issuses, but not only was the audio not in 5.1digital s
urround as promised, but there was a loud fucking buzzing sound in the background. I finally had to get a refund because this was unnacceptable. This theater should not have been chosen as the only theater in Utah. Way to drop the ball mute. Fuck your fans! Research your shit yo!

  • Gimme a buzzing bg over not being able to see it at all..

    DVD. please?
  • oh that sucks...we had no problems in Hollywood California.....i think it must be situational with the theaters....seemed like Laemmle's was on top of it

  • i think its up to the distributers to sort the cinemas out? i'm not sure how much control 'goldfrapp' have over that?
sorry you didn't have a good night though.
  • It sucked that Vue Islington decided the audience couldn't go in the cinema until three of the Tales of US films had played, I am not devastated, am more annoyed and blame the cinema not Goldfrapp for this. On a brighter note, Vue Islington was sold out and had to be moved to a bigger screen, I wonder how many other places this was the case.
    It's a re-creation

  • Exactly as stevil says and as I'd mentioned in the main thread as far as I can tell from other simulcasts I've attended and the one I was at last night the central stream out from the studios seemed to be fine or we'd have all had similar problems - it definitely seems like it was the individual cinemas equipment or local infrastructure that may have given rise to issues.

It's a real shame if some folks got a fantastic night and others had issues but with anything of that scale there's bound to be some glitches. It's not normally an issue for a general release film as you can get a free ticket and go again but nights like this one compound the feelings.

I honestly don't think this is a band/management thing on this occasion but all the same it's sad if some folks missed out.

  • So upon awakening today I realized that it probably was a bad auditorium situation and my comments were a bit too harsh. I know some people didn't have the oportunity to see it. I do hope they'll release a dvd though. Cheers.
  • Alisons actually been acknowledging some fans tweets about the problems, seems like she's as bummed as everyone else

It's just the nature of these things, they're broadcast by satellite so it's not as concrete as broadcasting via the internet.
