That's my disclaimers out of the way!

Carp: how many of the collaborations have Alison ONLY on vocals?

A very high percentage of them - most, really. I'm sat at work so not going to count them out exactly!

Only really some of the remixes for other people where there's shared ones.

  • Do i bring up the elephant in the room? It's her, deal with it!

Oh and you forgot Scissor Sisters - Sex Exciter. You could maybe note which ones have videos or performances featuring Alison too, like Tricky's Pumpkin and one (or two?) of the Orbital videos.

Took me a second to work out which you meant, then caught on - it was the one in the Salvation Army uniform!

I have the original CD's for all but a couple - it took a looooong time to track some of them down!

  • [06] Brice Wassy - Mr BW 05:10
never heard of this one before! although a brief googling tells me it's a remix and not the original album track?

NB - yet to add a couple of things and confirmation of [26] on the Orbital list was never found one way or the other.

i always assumed that was her anyway, haha
  • Fantastic - Thank you Mr Carpy

It was through Orbital (different thread I know) that I first discovered Alison, then Goldfrapp - but not until just before Seventh Tree - much too late in life...

I guess Alison got on well with the Hartnoll brothers, allowing them to sample her so much? - perhaps it's time for another Orbital project.  After the dust settles on TOU of course :-)

  • Wow I'm impressed Carpathian, that's some list ;)
    It's a re-creation
    Again I live another life
    My imagination
    Can't cross the borderline
  • The thing I should point out for any newbies to this list is that many of them contain some fan-bloomin-tastic Alison performances which I'd rate as must hear for fans of her voice.

If people want four as starting point examples then go for:-

    John Parish - "Pretty Baby"
    Pale 3 - "Bodo"
Add N to X - "Revenge of The Black Regent"
    Giradet - "Bare"

All four very different in style, both musically and how Alison uses her voice.

NB Watch out for "Pretty Baby" - it's about the sexiest thing ever.

  • Pale 3 -Bodo could sit quite happily on any Goldfrapp album. Infact the whole album is great. And the film! :/)

Accelerator - End titles is worth checking aswell. As if may well link nicely back to TOU. Very orchestrated, filmic and dark.

  • [26] Out There Somewhere (Part 1) 10.42

I'm not sure this one is her Carpy, I heard that the female voice "now remember if it's the last thing I do" was a Madonna sample, not so obvious as the Chime Crime one.

I'm also not sure about Far Encounter by Dreadzone, it doesn't sound like her and she's not listed on that album either.

Howdy, Stranger!
