  • This ones for The Carpathian, I managed to listen to Tricky-False Idols, really liked it on first impressions. I believe this isn't the first time that Tricky has paid homage to the Japan classic 'ghosts' either, great stuff would have to get back to you on favorite tracks though.
    It's a re-creation

Cheers! It's a real grower too - some of those loops & hooks really sink in after a few days.

  • I am tempted with the vinyl version at some point ;)

Tricky's a bit of a goth really if you ask me.

He certainly does moody well enough & likes his black eyeliner :D

  • I've just dug out CAN's "Delay 1968" thanks to Alison on the radio earlier.

Cranked out the opening (and very scary) "Butterfly" which is probably the opposite of the summery disco boogie she chose but both are still genius this many years on.

Yeah I was thinking as well of the cover of Tattoo, I swear I've read Tricky quoted as saying 'this was the first ever trip-hop record ' or words to that effect. There's a guy who plays with The Mission that also plays guitar with Tricky, I'm sure there's a few more goth connections. Oh there was a not so great cover of the love cats too, but yeah he really does make some intensely moody music, and nearly always interesting too.
