Having checked those out, I find that We Three Kings seems to easiest to pick up at a reasonable price. Would that be a good place to start?

No. We Three Kings is a Christmas album--one of the best there is. Even though I don't celebrate Christian holidays, I play it every year during the Winter Solstice season (along with A Charlie Brown Christmas and the Boston Camerata's An American Christmas. Their best work is really a toss-up between Nurds and Keep on Doing. Clever, harmonic, moving music. Why not check them out on youtube? Or download for free on the sly?

We Three Kings is obviously not the place to start. I have at least 3 of albums geared to that time of year. One is the bonus disc included with the de luxe edition of Girls Aloud's Chemistry. I also have Betty's Snow Biz. In addition, there's the album that includes Goldfrapp doing Winter Wonderland. I'll never play that in its entirety again (I did so once, and hated the majority of the tracks). But I do like Alison singing Winter Wonderland. Like you, I'm not a Christian.

Anyway, I've now located an affordable copy of Nurds and ordered it. The least expensive copy of Keep on Doing I've found so far is a bit pricey.

YouTube isn't brilliant for me. The sound keeps breaking up. Download for free on the sly? That sounds dishonest!
