TRUMP elected world president Japanese commercial
First sign of the tide turning? http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/16/europe/netherlands-dutch-results/ Thank goodness. I feared the worst when Erdogan chose to call for rallies of his supporters in Holland on the eve of the Dutch election, deliberately tr…

How do you feel today?
Strange. I quit my job this week. After twelve years of contentment and enthusiasm followed by one year of utter abject disdain. Academisation. Ahh, Kat. That's little short of tragic. The creeping privatisation of state education is a nation…

Doesn't appear we get to download it if we brought a digital album from the frapp store :( I just got an email from Music Glue with instructions for the download of Ocean (I ordered the CD)

Congratulations, Kat! that's lovely news. Have a fantastic day. Is it like a funeral? Erm - better rephrase that. Are you going to choose music and readings and that? If yes, what? Do you need any advice for that "special night"? (I…

Are there violin/strings on those bits (that weak people listen to)? This question is just a pretext for people who are pretending they aren't weak.... But that is something I noticed, and worry about - no obvious strings.

Alison interview with Lauren Laverne BBC 6 Music
I agree. I'm finally realiasing Alison just doesn't give much away in interviews. Yes, my impression is that she has some practised lines, and gets in a bit of a tizz when the interviewer goes beyond them. Like as soon as LL asked for…

@Ponygurl - that is a beautiful summary of one of the most powerful driving forces towards war. I'd add capitalism, which has a logic that requires economies to consume increasing amounts of resources or else to collapse. Breaking the logic of…

Alison says she can't stand CDs, especially if they are in those plastic covers, so presumably Silvereye will have a digipak sleeve.

Fabulous programme on BBC Radio 4 this morning about how menopause has evolved in mammals. The main argument is that old females pass on more genes if, when they get old, they stop breeding themselves and instead concentrate on helping their sons an…

You are right about the psyops, WW. It's fascinating and frightening how fragile our "enlightened", liberal world view turns out to be.

First gigs
Bloody hell, I am old. My first gig was Greenslade at the Colston Hall , May 19th, 1975 I didn't see GF live until the Head First tour. Even though I had been a fan since 2003, I didn't listen to them between 2005 and 2010 because it made…

That Moving Waves album did the rounds in school, UT. We all thought Jan's yodelling was hilarious so everyone wanted to borrow it. Eventually I swapped it for Bob Marley and the Wailers 'Live!' On balance, a good decision.
