Era 7 Interviews
I don't get the impression she's broken up about it. She seems quite zen about things these days -- was it the first interview in which she was asked what her look would be for the new album/videos and she said something about looking lik…

The setting is stunning, the shaved head couple is striking, but, yeah, it does feel a bit art school'y.

Official Goldfrapp website access problem innit....
Was anyone else having trouble accessing the forum for the last several days? Yes, I was using the right URL and, yes, I tried clicking directly from the homepage. Got an error message page that said "BONK! Something went wrong" or somet…

I adore Alison's whispered vocals, but I'm so excited to hear her sing loudly. This sounds amazing. Hope we get the video as well. Those flowing red cape on black rock images are already feeling iconic.

Love this image. There's something a little double-double, toil and trouble about it.

I wonder if they'll get added to Coachella. Although, with our luck, they'd probably be programmed against Roisin Murphy, Little Dragon, Lorde, Royksopp, the xx and up-and-coming singer Beyonce.

Is it rude to point this out? What context is this in HT? Sorry for double-post. In response to urban_tribesman: context.

Everything about the campaign, including the teaser images and video have the markings of Ms. Lee, but I share Lukas' confidence that they will make it their own.

Tales of Us - Film
Hey all - does anyone know of a site that still has the "live from Air Studios" video of 'Train'? I got a hankering to watch it just now and can't find it on any of the major vid sites. I seem to recall it was "presen…

Knew it was going to be something like this. I wonder why seemingly lesser UK bands with smaller followings can make North American tours work, but Goldfrapp can't. I wonder if this a casualty of them leaving EMI. If you discount the one-off…

Jesus. Some of these side-bar discussions about what fans are owed by artists are nuts. I wonder how many restraining orders [someone] on this page has against him/her. Subscribe button worked just fine for me now as well. Though, pretty sure …

I really can't say anything at all. Other than, there will always be disappointed people when it comes to these important announcements. I do know what it is but have been sworn to absolute secrecy (i can't begin to tell you how difficult …

You can count this American as one of the disappointed. I'm not getting my hopes up, though (unless VF wants to drop a hint). The longer version of this announcement, posted on Facebook, reads: For everyone who came down to our Greenwich Mu…

Ugh. I'm so jealous of you Brits. Not just because of Goldfrapp's score. I wish I lived close to the National Theatre. There's no other theatre company like them in the world, frankly. The closest we come to in the US is Lincoln …

Looking forward to the new album, but I really miss the old video series. The mystery, the darkness, the crazy mythology. These newer videos from 2014 are absolutely beautiful, but they don't feel as compelling as their prior work.

Just finished season 1 of The Bridge (the American adaptation of a Swedish/Danish co-production). Mixed bag, I'm afraid. The lead performance of the autistic American detective by Diane Kruger is absolutely smashing and surprisingly moving. …

Well, Urban_Tribesman, I'd argue that "Happiness", despite its title, is a rather subversive song and there's certainly some sinister qualities to it with lines like "Give us all your money..." But, there is something…

Okay. You're right. It's a perfectly normal thread in which a perfectly well adjusted person carries on a conversation with himself Alison. I'm mistaken. My apologies, Banana. Continue on with...whatever this is.

No, not the boxer. The Ricardo Lopez who spoke to Bjork through unconventional means as well. I guess I'm the only one slightly disturbed this thread. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but it creeped me out.

She was really "into" that 'Lovely Head' performance, wasn't she? Wonderfully theatrical down to the bow at the end. I love sinister Goldfrapp. Hope we get some more of that - no matter the musical style - in the future.
