Oops, sorry Micky... can't read my own calendar thing. Have corrected yours and BH's. (Though unfortunately it buggers up my eight 21-year-olds line!)

'Once upon a time there was a pretty fly' (MIF intro)
I've just been chatting* to Lisa Gunning about the 'hunter' film... she says it's "one of our favourites". :-) No surprise there, but people might be interested to hear that she recommended the film: "Woman in the…

What`s the last film you watched ?
Just watched 'The night of the hunter'. Goldfrapp used the theme song from this film as the intro music to their 'Tales of us' premiere gigs in Manchester (July, last year). There's a thread about it here.

^ Haha! And yes, Shelley Winters plays the mother/wife. It's obviously not to your taste, Peter, but I reckon it would appeal to a fair few Goldfrapp fans. There are lots of reviews (critics ave. rating 98%, punters ave. rating 91%) on Rott…

'Once upon a time there was a pretty fly' (MIF intro)
'The night of the hunter' - on blu-ray - came into my possession, and I watched it last night. It was made in 1955, before even I was born, and you might think the picture quality would be pretty poor (by today's high-def standards)…

^ I take your point. Can I ask... have you ever thought yourself to exhibit any of the associated traits? (I'm just curious, not prying)

OK, thanks for the comments, guys, Trying that test was my first shot at any sort of diagnosis or analysis of the condition (or lack of). As for what I want(ed) out of a diagnosis... I reckon most people would be curious as to how their behaviour w…

Had a quick read-through of this old thread, and the first thing that I noticed was that, unfortunately, a lot of the contributing members no longer post on the forum. I do hope folklore, Cervus, chokka and the other absentees return soon. Oh, and o…

Yeah, at VUE Plymouth, only 4 standard and 5 VIP (inc mine) seats have been booked. I wasn't that ranty about the availability/release situation... if I don't use the Plymouth one, it's max of £12 wasted.

^ Cheers B_M. I tried not to give too much away for either film. ;-) Yes, 'Life of Pi' was originally a book.. regarded by many as "un-filmable". I've not read it but most reviewers seem to think the film did it justice. Yo…

What`s the last film you watched ?
Have just watched a couple of recent-ish (2012/2013) films on the telly-machine... both 3D jobbies as it happens. 1) Star Trek Into Darkness. Was vaguely aware that some had criticised this for re-using themes & scenes from early ST films. That…

Television....
Charlie Brooker's latest review show variant (now 'Weekly Wipe') is still worth a look, I reckon. On tonight at 10pm. The sections featuring Philomena Cunk seem to be getting even better. (watch out Brian Cox) :-)
