I had to 'de-Head First' my Head First album so i played it more. Take out some of the cliche tracks like Alive and I Wanna Life and add We Radiate and the tracks from Singles collection (as they were recorded at similar time?) and it's much more Goldfrapp in my view.
1 > Rocket 2 > Believer 3 > Dreaming 4 > Yellow Halo 5 > Head First 6 > Hunt 7 > Shiny And Warm 8 > We Radiate 9 > Melancholy Sky 10 > Voicething
It'll be my request for Sunday's #Goldfrapp show and this thread is motivating me to start a thread I've had waiting in the garage for a couple of months.
"Read my posts and see why we`re not allowed nice things anymore" "Brought to you straight from the People`s Republic of There`s Something Wrong With You . The Hoi Polloi Capital of the World"
If there is one album that really needs an alternative tracklisting, it is Head First.
The problem for me though is, if I remove the tracks I dislike and add We Radiate + the tracks from Singles collection, I still only have an "album" of about seven tracks (maximum). I can get a fantastic EP by using five tracks though.
I hope that you die in a decent pair of shoes You got a lot more walking to do where you're going to.
Blimey this thread took a bit of finding. Anyhoo just thought I'd mention that Head First tracks have popped up on my iPod lately and this much maligned album isn't as bad as you might think. Probably not as refined as others but in the wait for somat new - it felt like a renewed experience. Give it a go - 'you never know' (see what i did there - I'll get mi coat)
