It seems to me that if artists want to protect their music from AI there is only one way to do so. I can't say I spent a lot of time on this. Just passing thoughts.
I've said for a long time I do not understand why the truly rich artists don't get together and start their own label. It has offended me for a long time that artists get so little for their work. I would think that Taylor Swift would be particularly offended.
Anyways, as much as I would regret it, since I like the high quality of CDs, any artist on the label would have to make their works only available in digital format and to purchase the works, the purchaser would need to agree to a contract similar to the big software companies. It wouldn't keep it from being stolen and passed around but, if they put a stipulation that the work is not to be used by AI, that should solve the AI problem. The quality problem of mp3 could also, of course, be circumvented. I guess albums could still be sold but it would have to be with a contract, also, which would be trickier.
Like I said, I haven't spent a lot of time on this, just trying to get artists to think outside the box. Relying on governments, well, you know how that goes.
