You may have seen those " Coexist" stickers appearing on car bumpers etc? Made up of different religious symbols and rainbow colours? Great concept..but there again, not all religions are represented, and the heterosexual population probably isn't represented. I'm happy to see after Orlando the emergence of the A rainbow movement- black A overlaying the rainbow and representing the heterosexual population allied to the LGBT community. I'm sure UT has got one on his lapel. If not, I'll post him one.
I think the LGBT rainbow flag was oriinally designed to embrace values way beyond sexual identity, and I've certainly seen variant rainbow flags on marches and demos to signify 'peace'. In my mind, the rainbow flag does represent civilisation in the sense of peace, equality, tolerance and inclusivity. But obviously, it has specific significance in certain contexts.
I've got an enamel rainbow flag on the dashboard of my car. I'm gradually pimping it to look like Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert. There's the Goldfrapp sticker on the rear window of course and the glitter ball stuck on the aerial.
