But it was such a treat to watch - I thought we'd be lucky to get 40 minutes. And the band are really gig-fit now, with Alison confident and moving a lot more. Can't wait till tomorrow :)

Asshats are those straw hats you see on donkeys - they probably still have them in Clacton :)

Re the sound, from what I heard the balance was better than most gigs. I liked the fact that the bass was not overwhelming and the vocals very clear. The lighting though takes some getting used to - it's obviously meant to resemble moonlight b…

Wow, that was so good. THANK YOU BBC - makes the licence fee worth it :-) Coudn't believe it when they played the whole gig The lighting still seems very wierd though - obviously meant to be moonlight :-)

Introduce Goldfrapp to your friends/family in only 20 Songs. What would you pick and why?
Not my favourites but the most obvious crowd pleasers are Ooh La La, Train and Strict Machine. I'd add a couple of blues songs, Eat Youself and Black Cherry plus the operatic Utopia to demonstrate the range

Thanks Nick for some good pics under very challenging conditions. Lighting was very strange but sound balance excellent probably because Will was in charge. Thanks also for capturing Ocean - fantastic live and crying out for an extended version.....…

A great gig once we got our tickets - that turned out alright in the end. Venue was nice and intimate with good sound though lighting was a bit strange. Alison was on top form even though she was clearly nervous which led to a couple of lines being …

The "i" is imo the least biased, and the best value (cheapest!) of the quality papers. The Guardian is good in many ways, particularly online, but leans to the left editorially, while the Times leans to the right and the Torygraph...enough…

RIP
So sad to see Chuck go, though he was 90 which is an almost unheard of age for a rocknroller. I saw him several times in the 70s including Wembley, he was a fantastic live performer and had a profound influence on the development of pop music

Latitude Festival - July 14th
Latitude has a reputation for being a nice well-organised festival. But I don't want to see the 1975 or placebo so not worth £84 for me.

I'm not sure why you need to take umbrage with someone expressing a different opinion. I've loved every single album they've released from Felt Mountain to TOU -- yes, even the sometimes maligned Head First. These previews have lef…

Alison doesn't like Head First - just saying :) I think much of HF was fabulous (particularly Hunt, Dreaming, Shiny & Warm) and the HF tour was great. But one or two songs not so, particularly Rocket.

I’ve given up trying to resist listening to the 1 minute snips and agree SE feels like a combination of Black Cherry and the best bits of Head First. That’s slightly disappointing as each of the previous albums were unique but after 6 previous ones …

Going by the titles which track intrigues you most?
Yes saw that and wondered whether it's because Alison really doesn't like HF, or a cock-up. Probably the latter.

Great interview. From what I heard of the snippets yesterday the album will be wonderful and dark. But given a stunning song, scenery and sci-fi theme, the video is a bit of an anticlimax tbh

I agree with you Nick it doesn't sound right - better to use the plural. Same problem with countries and companies - do you say Apple is trying to rule the world or Apple are trying to rule the world?

It's unusual - looks like you have to take the pdf and show your ID at the box office to get the actual ticket.
